It happened this way:
Lloyd started crowdfunding for a “much needed” Spanish translation of TRA. He wanted to do other languages but Spanish is the second most spoken language by JWs worldwide. He had Croatian (Dijana) and Romanian (Arthur Weber, his partner in crime who bootlegged COC with him) translations ready but for obvious reasons those aren’t languages you are making a tonne of money off of nor is there a huge need for. In fact Croatian and Romanian are probably two languages he could have skipped over and no one would have noticed.
He ended up with a few thousand dollars worth of donations for the Spanish translation.
Great! He had the money. Let’s get this moving, right?
No, he just inexplicably pocketed the money, took his family on holid— er “book tour” and then asked for qualified volunteers to do it for free. He specifically asked for translators with experience in English to Spanish. He wanted a full CV sent in with personal information and references he could check (Again with the personal information he solicits so he can retaliate if he feels you have slighted him). Keep that in mind because it does come up later.
He had a few volunteers, many in Mexico. Note that Spanish as spoken in Spain is different from that which is spoken in Mexico and Latin America. As someone who was a “Director” of his own Translation company, Lloyd should have known the folly of what was to follow. Yes, he was afraid of bootleggers so he refused to hand out digital copies of the book and only sent out individual chapters to volunteer translators all over the world. When a few asked for the full copy, he rudely cut them off and replied they could purchase a copy if they liked.
One such volunteer relayed information that he had went ahead and translated a chapter that was not assigned to him and made the mistake of telling Lloyd when asked that it was from a PDF. As PDF means a bootlegged digital copy, Lloyd doxxed him. All I remember from what I was told was he was in Hermosillo Mexico. But it was a real person who was doing this for free after Lloyd had pocketed the money funded for this purpose.
So if you want to know what he has in mind in taunting Kim to provide her legal credentials to him, this is simply how he operates. He asked for references for volunteer translators. He wanted Kim’s credentials. Why? Lloyd Evans is a piece of shit scumbag motherfucker who will harass you, your friends and colleagues if you cross him.
So does anyone want to return to the subject of whether or not we should lay off him due to concerns of him committing suicide?
